→ Character Name: Phineas Flynn
→ Canon: Phineas and Ferb
→ Canon Point: Sometime after ‘Summer Belongs to You.’ I don’t know how continuity works in this show.
→ Personality:
Phineas is an imaginative, optimistic, and very intelligent kid. He usually is the one to come with the ideas, and does almost all of the talking (seeing as Ferb’s feeling chatty if he says more than two lines per episode). He tends to throw himself into a project with full force and will act the part- he’s normally a really laid back kid, but if the goal of the day is to be a one-hit-wonder, he will throw a successful diva tantrum.
Though he’s a very smart kid, there are some very obvious things Phineas tends to overlook. Isabella’s massive crush on him is one of them, which can’t even be excused by not understanding the concept because he can very clearly see it in other people. There are also things involving the schemes they pull every day. Usually, whatever they’ve made magically vanishes through no planning of their own, and he didn’t put much thought into why this happened until Candance brought it up, and honestly didn’t care because it was pretty useful, however it happened.
For the most part, Phineas remains optimistic even in the worst of situations (sometimes he’ll act otherwise just to go along with the part, but it’s just acting). There are very few situations where he loses hope, and usually it’s when he’s at the end of his rope- has tried pretty much everything and can’t think of a way out of the situation. These occasions are very rare, though, and for the most part he can think and build (with Ferb’s help) his way out of anything.
→ History:
Phineas lives with his mother, sister, stepfather, stepbrother, and pet platypus in Danville, part of an unspecified tri-state area. During their summer vacation, he and his brother Ferb decide to spend each day to the fullest. However, being the rather brilliant and creative boys that they are, they take fullest to the extreme. They have a variety of adventures, such as building a rocket, painting a continent, and giving a monkey a shower, all while (accidentally) driving their sister Candace insane. While Phineas and Ferb, along with their friends Isabella, Buford, Baljheet, and occasionally others, enjoy every minute of summer the best they can, Candace is usually trying to ‘bust’ them for it. Though her aim is to get them in trouble, the boys do not seem to realize that and even try to help her on occasion.
Oh, and there was that one time where they went into an alternate dimension and found out Perry, their playtpus, is actually a secret agent, but Phineas doesn’t remember so that doesn’t count.
Their adventures are numerous and varied, spanning from making a rollar coaster (twice- the second time it was a musicial), becoming one of the first successful time travellers by repairing a time machine in their museum, and finding the lost city of Atlantis. One of their bigger adventure was on the summer solstice- the longest day of the year. Phineas and Ferb made an airplane, with the intent to fly all the way around the world in a day, always staying ahead of the sun. They made stops in Tokyo (where Candance’s friend Stacy’s cousins did a Carmelldansen-esque dance while they refueled) and France (in which Phineas completely failed to notice that Isabella wanted to have a romantic time with him, while being very confused as to why Ferb and his crush didn’t have any developements- ‘You know, a boy and a girl in the city of love... I thought romance was a foregone conclusion!’). They ended up crashed on an island and almost don’t make it, which causes Phineas to have a blue-screen-of-death moment, and make it back just in time by making a paper airplane out of their map and catapalting it through the air.
His friendships have remained mostly constant throughout the show- Perry and Ferb are both great friends, and honestly they couldn’t get much closer if they tried. Isabella’s crush on him has remained very consistent, and when we get the chance to see her point of view it’s obvious she really likes him and is occasionally frustrated by his apparent obliviousness. However, from some of his comments (and the part of that movie that no one remembers in which Isabella kisses him and he doesn’t mind at all), it’s clear the feelings are mutual, and Phineas just either doesn’t notice her side or is suppressing his own feelings. Baljheet began to participate more and more in activities over the summer and therefore their relationship was strengthed, and though Buford was the school bully, he never picked on Phineas like he did other nerds (like Baljheet), and after the group rescued his goldfish he got a lot nicer. They also have a 'sort of' friend named Irving, who is really more of a super-fan/stalker who likes to hang out with them without getting permission. Phineas doesn't seem to mind him very much, but is occasionally creeped out by the lengths he'll go to learn about them or get involved.
→ Abilities:
Phineas is incredibly intelligent and can work quickly. He’s also very charismatic, allowing people to overlook the fact that a child is working a forklift.
→ Strengths:
Phineas’s most defining trait, other than his massive amount of intelligence and creativity, is his optimism. He remains positive in even the most dire of situations, and in the rare moments he loses that, he’s usually encouraged pretty quickly. While not the mechnical whiz his brother is, Phineas can work tools with ease, and is often the one brainstorming their big ideas. He has a natural charisma that makes it hard to dislike him, and is overall a really friendly kid who wants to share his big ideas with everyone.
→ Weaknesses:
Though incredibly brilliant, Phineas is remarkably dense in certainly areas- specificly, dealing with romance. While this is not unexpected for someone his age, he also seems to think that he’s actually really good at identifying it and creating an atmosphere. He’s not.
Something that sort of goes hand in hand with his optimism is a bit of shield against reality. He doesn’t realize how dangerous a lot of things he and Ferb do actually are. (For example, when their rollar coaster goes off the tracks and hurls them into outer space, his only comment is ‘We should have charged more.’) It also doesn’t occur to him that other people would have less than good intentions, making him rather gullible and more than willing to help even when people are working against him.

Hi everybody! My name’s Phineas, and, uh... well, the doctors said I’ve got a different name and that everything I remember is wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m Phineas, soooo let’s go with that. Anyway, if anyone sees a guy with green hair who doesn’t really talk much, that might be my brother Ferb. If you could tell if you see him, or Perry (he’s our playtpus), that’d be awesome. Thanks!
→ Third Person Sample:
When Phineas woke up in the hospital, he was pretty confused. Since, you know, he’d been in his room when he fell asleep. The doctors told him he’d been in a coma and that what he remembered wasn’t real. That didn’t seem quite right to him, especially since he was pretty sure... well, actually, he probably could make up things as awesome as the adventures he and Ferb had all summer. But there was no way he could make up Ferb, or Perry, or Isabella or Candace or anyone. He was sure they were real, so he didn’t let the doctors bother him too much. Maybe this was all super high tech computer work or something. That would be awesome.
The doctors wanted to keep an eye on him until his family arrived, which made sense, even if it was kind of boring. They wouldn’t even let him leave his room. Sure, he could have found a way out, but they were doctors so he figured he should probably listen to them on that part, at least. So he sat on his bed, wishing he had a piece of paper because man there were a lot of cool ideas he had just from looking at stuff in here. (Like the bed he was in. It was so boring! How could anyone get better like that? Laughter is the best medicine, you know!)
Still, he got to thinking- if this was a computer, or even some kind of alternate dimension (which gave him a weird feeling of deja-vu), would things still work the same? Gravity seemed to still be in place, as did basic principles of force, but he’d have to run a couple tests to make sure. Well, he knew what he was doing until Ferb showed up!
